Project Details

Public Law 103-305 requires that airports requesting federal AIP funding for pavement rehabilitation or reconstruction have an effective pavement maintenance management system. To this end, ADOT's Aeronautics Group, part of MPD, has completed and is maintaining an Airport Pavement Management System (APMS) that, coupled with monthly pavement evaluations by the airport sponsors, fulfills this requirement.

Role/Scope

Since 2014, QT has been supporting Kimley-Horn on various APMS contracts with sampling and testing the various maintenance products used during construction. Products used generally include hot mix asphalt, rubberized asphalt, crumb rubber, PG binders and crack sealants. QT also provides the material coordinator, who ensures that all materials incorporated into the project are acceptable.
